vSEC take your privacy seriously and will take reasonable measures to ensure that your data is kept save, please read our privacy statement for further information.

Your privacy is important to vSEC, so we’ve developed a Privacy Policy that covers how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and store your information. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with our privacy practices and let us know if you have any questions.

The services delivered by vSEC are designed to protect customers’ data and assist businesses in implementing procedures to mitigate vulnerabilities and prepare processes for responding to breaches of security. Therefore, all of vSEC services have been designed with a strong set of privacy principles, including compliance with GDPR, in mind. In summary, here are some key facts you should know:

  • Either you or your employer have engaged us to deliver services for your benefit and we only hold information for your legitimate interest, and only use the data in ways that you would expect.
  • We only keep data for the minimum period, for example the duration of a project or engagement
  • We never share any personal information with advertisers or marketers – including Google and Facebook.
  • We never sell or rent any information to third parties and have no intention to do so.
  • A user can request their information to be deleted at any time and all data will be anonymised.

Information You Provide

When vSEC request personal information we will confirm for what purpose we are using the data.  This information may include but is not limited to, contact details, professional qualifications, employment history, background checks.  This is performed in accordance with standard business operations. vSEC policy is not to share or sell information without specific permission being granted.

How we use your Information

  • Our Service.  We will use your information to perform background checks, which we will ask your permission first.  We will also use the information for business communications. 
  • Communication about our Service. From time to time, we may use your personal information to send important notices, such as communications about alerts and reports subscriptions and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies. Because this information is important to your interaction with us, you may not opt out of receiving these communications.
  • No Third-Party Banner Ads. We do not allow third-party banner ads. We have no intention to introduce them, but if we ever do, we will update this policy.

Managing your Information

Subject Access Request. All individuals who are the subject of personal data held by vSEC are entitled to:

  • Ask what information the company holds on them and why.
  • Be clear on how to gain access to it.
  • Be informed how to keep it up to date.
  • Be informed how the company is meeting its data protection obligations.

If an individual contacts the company requesting this information, this is called a subject access request. Individuals will be charged £10 per subject access request and the Data Protection Officer will respond within 14 days of the request. The Data Protection Officer will always verify the identity of the requestee before handing over the personal information using the individual’s contact information held on record.

A customer can, on ending their client relationship, request the right for all their personal data to be deleted in advance of the normal data retention periods. This is requested by email to

Once the data has been identified the user is informed by email that their data has been deleted, following which their email address is deleted.

Third Party Services. vSEC will not disclose your personal information to any third party services for commercial purposes without updating this privacy policy.

Governmental Authorities. It may be necessary – by law, legal process, litigation, and/or requests from public and governmental authorities for vSEC to release personal information. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.

We may also disclose information about you if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms and conditions or protect our operations or users. Additionally, in the event of a reorganisation, merger, or sale we may transfer any and all personal information we collect to the relevant third party.

Protection of your Information. vSEC takes the security of your personal information very seriously. When your personal data is stored, we use computer systems with limited access housed in facilities using physical security measures. There is also multiple factors of authentication when data is stored off site.
